Development of knee surgery in Poland (plik PDF)

The development of the knee surgery in Poland started in 70. and 80. years of the last century. Financial limits
resulted in slowing the process comparing to other European countries, however the group of polish doctors
interested in modern knee surgery, better trained and with growing clinical experience, raised fast.
Nowadays, in growing number of knee surgery centers, there are performed all of the procedures in knee surgery, from the ligament reconstructions, through the treatment of focal cartilage lesions to the implantation of knee prostheses. Many polish presentations during the international congresses or conferences, invitations to co-chair the scientific sessions, active participation in boards of international scientific societies, as well as organization of workshops and training meetings on international level well document the advancement of polish knee surgery.
